The Purpose of the Florida Economic Development Council is to educate, advocate, and connect.

The Florida Economic Development Council is the professional association of economic, workforce and community developers who work in Florida’s 67 counties, over 400 cities, 24 workforce regions, 28 colleges, 12 universities, as well as utilities, ports, airports and industrial authorities. FEDC’s members are among the highest credentialed professionals in the industry – many with advanced degrees in finance, business, IT, engineering, planning and real estate.

The staff, board members and committee members of the Florida Economic Development Council are dedicated to providing leadership and vision to advance economic development professionals and economic development throughout the state of Florida as a whole.

We develop, promote, and provide continuing professional development and best practices for our members. We enable our members to remain aware and stay ahead of the changes in state economic development programs and best practices. Our premier event is our Annual Florida Economic Development Conference where members are able to connect and network with legislators and industry professionals from both the private and public sector.

We are an active presence at our state’s capitol in Tallahassee. Our professional team works year round to develop and promote sound economic development policy in the legislature. We provide our members with pertinent legislative updates so that they may educate their community and proactively advance our state’s economy.

We have worked tirelessly to offer our members a real-time and an interactive means of connecting with one another. We connect the state wide network of economic developers through our ever-improving communications and events. News is distributed throughout the state on a daily basis through our website and social media sites and summarized in our weekly e-updates and monthly e-newsletter.
